Who would have believed how the world has changed in the last 30 years. It's almost comical looking at movies from the 80's with fax machines, banks of secretaries with dictaphones and typewriters, people scrambling for the nearest telephone box and virtually no contact with people outside the immediate locality.
Huge leaps forward in technology have had an equally huge affect on how we behave in both our personal and business lives. We are now almost totally reliant on electronic media and communications which have taken hold right across the world. Even remote villages in faraway China, India and South Africa are connected to the global internet with high speed access allowing us all to make new friends, share ideas and find new customers.
Incredibly, we stand at the cusp of a new era in computing and communications with the emergence of quantum computers, information theory and cognitive analytics. Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recently announced that their quantum computer successfully factorised a 500+ digit number in only a few seconds using parallel algorithms: a calculation that would take a modern supercomputer over a billion years to complete. Quantum security has been developed at Cambridge University where codes magically change as soon as someone looks at them. Other quantum applications allow communications to 'travel' faster than the speed of light. Future generations will look back at us and laugh at how primitive and slow our I.T. is today !
Coupled with these mind-blowing breakthroughs in technology, massive changes are about to take place in the balance of world economic powers. According to UNESCO, China and India are expected to overtake the U.S., Japan and Europe as the leading global economic blocks in just a few years time. In fact, they predict that over half of the world's wealth will reside in China by 2040. This will inevitably lead to cultural, social and business changes if our economy is to survive and grow. We will need to leverage new technologies and communications media to build relationships with the East while maintaining our old relationships in the West.
Cloud IT Technologies know how to leverage the power of mobile and internet communications to help you build relationships today, reach new customers, and grow your business whether your target market is local, national or international.
